Whether you are catching a train, driving, walking, cycling, teleporting, pod-racing to our Con, we have options to accommodate your travel. Please see below for our recommended modes of transport.

train

Industrial action is currently planned for 1-3 June. Please check with your operator how this might effect your journey.   

 

Portsmouth and Southsea is the ideal station for Portsmouth Comic Con 2023, being only a minute walk from the station to the venue. It is only a 15 minutes (approx) walk from Portsmouth Harbour and Fratton train stations respectively as well. These stations are served by South Western Railway, GWR and Southern.

The city is connected through the railway network to towns and cities across the South – and beyond. This means you can catch a direct service to Portsmouth from London, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Southampton, Winchester, Bath and a whole load more.

Keep an eye out for special offers on rail fares running throughout the year, where you can enjoy discounted fares on routes between Portsmouth and heaps of cities.

PARK AND RIDE

The quick, green and reliable way into Portsmouth! Park your car at the site located just off the M275 then hop onto a bus to the city centre – and back, for just £4 per day (up to 5 passengers per car). The service avoids any traffic getting you to Victoria Park, or Civic Hall (depending on if you take the PR1 or PR3 bus) which are by the Guildhall in minutes. With two routes to choose from running all day, you won’t need to miss a thing during Comic Con! Buy on the day or pay less with a smartcard! Visit https://parkandride.portsmouth.gov.uk/

PARKING IN PORTSMOUTH

Isambard Brunel Multi Storey Car Park has 460 spaces and is 200m from Portsmouth Guildhall.

When attending the show you can purchase an ‘exit ticket’ for this car park, either at the point of booking or on the day of the show, at the discounted price of £4.50. Exit tickets can be collected during Box Office opening hours and before the start of a show.

There are a very limited number of on street parking spaces outside the venue.

bus

Local and regional bus services stop at Commercial Road City Centre which is a 5 minute walk from Portsmouth Guildhall.

National coach services will stop at The Hard Interchange, a 15 minute walk or short taxi ride away.

by sea

Portsmouth is well connected by sea, whether you are travelling from international waters, or from local islands and areas.

ISLE OF WIGHT

You can catch both the passenger or the car ferry to Portsmouth from the Isle of Wight. Head to Wightlink or Hovertravel for the best routes and how to get to us.

GOSPORT

The Gosport ferry operates every 7.5 minutes at peak times and only take 4 minutes to get across to Portsmouth. Check out the best travel routes for your journey on the Gosport Ferry website.

HAYLING ISLAND

The Hayling Ferry runs from Hayling to Eastney and only takes 3 minutes to get to the island. Find out more on the Hayling Ferry website.

OVERSEAS

If you LOVE us that much and are willing to travel overseas to come and see us, then you are in luck. Portsmouth has international ferry ports that travel from the Channel Islands, all the way to Caen and Bilbao. Check out your best bets below:

by air

Prefer to fly? The major London airports Gatwick and Heathrow, are both located 60 miles (100km) away and Southampton International Airport are in easy reach of Portsmouth & Southsea Station via good rail and rail/coach connections.

Southampton International Airport, just 22 miles away, provides services to domestic UK, Channel Islands, French and Dutch destinations.
