Deadly Knitshade is a London-based artist and author. She is best known for her VERY TINY COMICS GUMBALL MACHINE ANTHOLOGY – the world’s smallest collectible comics from the likes of Jamie Smart (Bunny vs Monkey), Simone Lia (Fluffy), Warwick Johnson-Cadwell (Hellboy), and many more.

Her own comics feature unsettling yet adorable tales of heartbroken geese, sassy felines, and cosy cosmic entities. Knitshade’s playful creations have featured in Tate Britain, the Natural History Museum, and on the BBC. She was recently shortlisted for the 2026 First Graphic Novel Award for her developing graphic novel, The Frozens. She also makes Comic-making kits to encourage others to spread the comics-creating joy.

Knitshade is rumoured to be made up of 27 imps in a human suit, but this is just a rumour. Surely.
