2. NAME OF COMPETITION:
“IDW Talent Competition” (the “Competition”). The judging panel will be looking for the best work in three categories: fiction, spot illustration and comics
3. METHOD OF ENTRY & COMPETITION TERMS:
Entry is free of charge at the Portsmouth Comic Con on 5th and 6th May. Entrants can register on Twitter and Facebook
To enter via Twitter the entrant must follow the @PComicCon Twitter account, then tweet their name and Twitter handle
To enter via Facebook the entrant must Like and Follow the www.facebook.com/ PortsmouthComicCon/page, then post their name and details via their personal Facebook account in the comment box of a relevant post, (each an “Entry”).
All entrants must have the Internet service or mobile device bill payer’s permission prior to entering.
The Competition will be open on Saturday 5th May 2018 to 23.59, Sunday 6th May 2018 inclusive (the “Competition Period”).
4. WINNER SELECTION:
Dirk Wood will be picking winners from 3 categories: fiction, spot illustration and comics – get published in Full Bleed. Any entries received outside of this Competition Period (for whatever reason) will be invalid. The decision by Portsmouth Guildhall is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5. THE PRIZES:
There will be 3 prize winners
The First, Second and Third Winners to be selected will receive the following:
One winner from fiction will be published in Full Bleed
One winner from spot illustration will be published in Full Bleed
One Winner from comics will be published in Full Bleed
All prizes are together the “Prize” decided by IDW’s Dirk Wood. The Winners will be awarded at our discretion and no prizes will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of an entrant. No alternative prize will be given and the prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
We reserve the right to change the Prize due to circumstances beyond our control or to offer an alternative of similar value. Nothing in these terms and conditions in any way limits Portsmouth Guildhall’s (or any other person or organisation’s) liability for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. It is your responsibility and to assess whether the Prize is suitable for you.
Entrants will be notified via direct message on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook that they have won, and the message will instruct the Winner how to redeem their Prize. All Winners will receive a direct message on Tuesday 8th May 2018 (the “Prize Message”).
The Winners should respond within 3 days to the Prize Message. Failure to respond to the Prize Message within the timeline stipulated may result in the Prize being forfeited and an alternate Winner being selected.
Winners will also be publicly announced on Portsmouth Guildhall’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages in accordance with clause 6 below.
Entry to the Competition gives Portsmouth Guildhall the right, without separate consent or compensation, to publicise any Winners’ names and to make further use of these in printed publications and on the Internet solely for administering this Competition in accordance with applicable law.
Entry to the Competition gives Portsmouth Guildhall the right, without separate consent or compensation, to use the Joke on all Portsmouth Guildhall social platforms if required.
7. SPECIFIC RESTRICTIONS:
The competition is open to anyone aged 16 years or over except employees of Portsmouth Guildhall and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
Multiple entries allowed. Any entries received outside of the Competition Period (for whatever reason) will be invalid.
Any entry that is unclear, incomplete, defaced, corrupt, illegal or misdirected will not be accepted. Portsmouth Guildhall accepts no responsibility for lost entries, or for any invalid, incomplete entries or entries not received. No ‘bots’ or similar automated third party software will be allowed and anyone found using such software will disqualified. Any alternative entrants will be selected according to these terms and conditions.
By submitting the Entry to Portsmouth Guildhall the entrant is declaring that it is their own original work, they are the creator of it (or have the creator’s permission to submit it. A copy of any such written permission should be supplied on request) and that the original work does not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant agrees to fully indemnify Portsmouth Guildhall against any actual or threatened claims or actions Portsmouth Guildhall may be subject to in relation to your Entry.
Entries must not contain anything that could be viewed as indecent, inappropriate, defamatory, unlawful, offensive or represent a danger to health and safety. Any entry that is found, at any time, to breach these T&Cs or that otherwise contains prohibited or inappropriate content as determined by Portsmouth Guildhall, in its sole discretion, will be disqualified. Portsmouth Guildhall shall have the right to remove an Entry from any and all online platforms at their discretion.
8. GOVERNING LAW:
These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
